Anne Mooi Appointed Acting Director of Parks & Community Services

West Vancouver, BC: CAO Grant McRadu is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Mooi as Acting Director of Parks and Community Services for the District of West Vancouver.
Anne is a West Vancouver resident who has worked for the District of West Vancouver over the past two years, first as Manager of Social Services and most recently as Deputy Director of Parks and Community Services. Anne previously worked in North Vancouver for 17 years in the capacity of Executive Director for Parkgate Community Services Society and the North Vancouver Recreation Commission. Anne oversaw the initial creation and operation of Parkgate, its operating Society, and the satellite facilities. Since graduating from university in 1980, Anne's career in the field of education, community services, and recreation has included working in Calgary, Alberta, and Melbourne, Australia, in addition to working the past 19 years here in British Columbia.
Anne brings specific expertise in developing community governance models; she was on the Inaugural Board of Directors for the Lindsay Park Sports Society in Calgary, Alberta - the first facility and governance model of its kind in Western Canada; she was involved in developing the initial community governance model for Parkgate Community Centre; and she has worked on the development of a governance model for West Vancouver’s new Community Centre. Her specific expertise includes consensus building, community development, staff leadership, and the development of synergistic groups to focus on community needs.
