Energy Efficiency Incentives for Homeowners
Make an energy efficient improvement to your home and receive a cash rebate.
Did you know ...West Vancouver produces 20 per cent more greenhouse gas emissions per capita than the City of Vancouver? The Climate Action Working Group has reported that this is mainly because of the high number of single family homes in West Vancouver.
As the cold, windy and damp days of winter draw near, it's a good time for energy efficiency renovations to make your home more comfortable, save on your heating bills, and access LiveSmart BC grants for your upgrades. After an energy efficiency renovation, a typical household reduces its energy bills by 30% or more after doing lower cost upgrades such as insulation and air sealing, and by up to 70% after doing all the upgrades recommended by an energy advisor. It is not uncommon for an upgraded 60 year old home to become more energy efficient than a home built today!
Grants are available from the LiveSmart BC Efficiency Incentive Program, including up to $1420 for a high efficiency heat pump, $400 for basement insulation upgrades, and up to $250 for air sealing and draft proofing improvements.
City Green Solutions, a non-profit organization specializing in energy efficiency assessments, complete the paperwork for you so you can access LiveSmart BC grants for your upgrades. And their diagnostic tools, including air leakage tests and thermal imaging cameras, help you identify the most appropriate and cost effective ways to save energy in your home. City Green is the only non-profit provider of home energy assessments for LiveSmart BC grants.
