Aquatic Centre Features
The Aquatic Centre was renovated and expanded in 2004 and is characterized by lots of natural lighting, two modern sculpted wood beams and the Aquascapes sun shades. In 2009 the construction of the West Vancouver Community Centre was completed and was joined to the Aquatic Centre by a beautiful glass Atrium. The Aquatic Centre is an award winning facility containing the following amenities:
- Warm water leisure pool with ramped access and 17m swim area
- Giant red 60m waterslide (all riders must be 107cm or 42 inches tall in order to ride the slide)
- 10 spray and bubble water features including the lazy river and water curtain
- 6 lane 25m lap pool with a 17.5m swimming and diving tank
- 1m and 3m diving boards
- Adult hot tub and Family hot tub with ramped access
- Ozone and chlorine purified pools for minimum chlorine odour or swimmer discomfort
- European style dry sauna and steam room
- Outdoor patio area with teak lounge furniture
- Men’s and women’s change rooms with accessible showers and washrooms and swim suit spinners
- Fully accessible family change facilities with 8 private rooms, wheelchair accessible showers including 2 fully accessible changerooms with lifts and changetables
- 7000 square foot Health and Conditioning Centre with state of the art cardio, strength training machines as well as accessible and adapted equipment
- 1100 square foot program studio for specialized fitness programs
- Lounge, stretching area and private consultation room
