- For all you hockey fans here is something to ponder: Did good day care play a part in the success of Jarome Iginla, captain of the Calgary Flames and member of Canada's 2010 Gold Olympic Hockey Team?
Jarome attended Oliver Day Care Centre* a non-profit , municipally-approved centre in Edmonton, Alberta, full-time from the ages of 2 to 5. Numerous studies, including those by Canada's Dr. Fraser Mustard on brain development, clearly show that quality care and play-based learning in the early years has long-lasting and significant positive impact on physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. *Source: West Vancouver's Child Care Hub Coordinator was the Director of Oliver Day Care during the time Jarome Iginla attended the centre
