Cottages to Community Book Launch a Great Success

For the past three years, the West Vancouver Historical Society has been researching local tales, spending thousands of hours poring through archives and searching for personal contributions of photos and stories. The resulting book, Cottages to Community, tells the tale of the development of West Vancouver in its first 100 years and is part of the municipality’s centennial celebrations for 2012.
Well known author Francis Mansbridge (Vancouver Then and Now, Hollyburn: The Mountain and the City, Launching History: the Saga of Burrard Dry Dock), photo editor John Moir, and designer Colleen Wood have created a book for West Vancouver, by West Vancouver.
Profits from sales of the book will go to West Vancouver Archives, the West Vancouver Museum, and West Vancouver Memorial Library. Books can be purchased at the Museum and the Library, as well as other locations across the North Shore. Please visit www.wvhs.ca to find out more.
