Media Release - West Vancouver Budget Seeks Community Input

The District of West Vancouver has prepared a proposed budget for 2012 that is based on the Community Strategic Plan and the Balanced Scorecard.
Highlights of the 2012 Proposed Budget:
- Recommends a property tax increase of 1.749 per cent. On an average property tax of $3,121 this would equate to an additional $54 per year ($3,175).
- Includes proposed increments and decrements which could be added to or decreased from the proposed 1.749 per cent.
Details of the proposed budget are available online at westvancouver.ca/budget. The public is invited to ask questions and provide feedback on the budget.
An Open House will be held.
Date: Wednesday, February 1, 2012
Time: 5 – 7 p.m.
Location: West Vancouver Memorial Library, 1950 Marine Drive, Welsh Hall
The session will begin with a welcome from Mayor and Council and a short overview from the Chief Financial Officer. Staff will be available to provide information on their specific budgets. If members of the public are not able to attend in person, emailed questions and/or comments are welcome at budget@westvancouver.ca.
