Getting a Green Can
West Vancouver has provided Green Cans to residents as a one-time part of the Green Can Program launch.
All residents that currently receive municipal garbage and yard trimmings service are eligible for one 46L green can, provided by the municipality. If you haven't received your green can, you may pick on up from Municipal Hall. We are located at 750 17th Street, and open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Why has West Vancouver provided a special Green Can?
The West Vancouver's 46L Green Cans will make it easier for residents participate in the program and to manage bear attractants responsibly.
The Green Can features a lid closure and latch that are designed to contain odours and deter flies and other small pests. Green Cans are not wildlife-proof but they are small and easier to store in a location that is secure from wildlife, such as a garage, basement or shed.
