The water and road infrastructure along Mathers Avenue from 25th Street to 27th Street is scheduled for rehabilitation as part of the District’s 2012 Capital Programs.
Water main construction will commence the week of May 22, 2012 and is expected to continue for approximately 16 weeks. Work will take place between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. During construction, traffic closures and parking restrictions will be implemented within the construction zone as necessary.
When completed, the area will feature:
- upgrades to the water main servicing homes on the 2500-2700 blocks of Mathers Avenue
- roadway regrading and repaving
Traffic control staff will be on site to direct traffic during construction hours for the duration of the work. Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions; your cooperation and patience is appreciated as we carry out this work in a safe and efficient manner.
For safety reasons, please use extra caution while travelling through the construction zone. Keep children and pets away from the construction site at all times, and remember that household garbage should be put out before 7:30 a.m. on collection days.
