The current rating is LOW

Barbecues: Only in designated areas
Closures: None at this time
Forest Use: No smoking, stay on trails
Fire Season Bans: None at this time

In West Vancouver the following are illegal:

  • Backyard wood-burning fireplaces
  • Campfires in parks or on beaches
  • Any discarded lighted match, cigar, cigarette, or any fire-producing device in parks or on beaches
  • Burning of any kind of debris or green waste on private or public property

Propane fuelled barbecues are a great way to cook food with very low risk of fire hazard and therefore are legal in parks, on beaches and on private property unless signed otherwise.  Link to more summer fire safety tips.

Note:  Cooking is NOT allowed in Lighthouse Park at any time by any means and please remember to dispose of charcoal in provided bins at Ambleside, John Lawson and Whytecliff Parks.
