Business Licences
Anyone who conducts or carries on a business within West Vancouver is required to obtain a business licence. This includes tradesmen coming into the community to perform work such as builders, plumbers, electricians and landscape gardeners.
The licence fees vary and may be based on the number of people working for the business, the amount of square footage occupied, or other criteria involved in the running of the business. The business licence fees are outlined in the Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 4414, 2005. The business licence is valid for a calendar year and automatic renewal notices are sent out every December. Licence applications received after August 1st are pro-rated to 50% of the yearly fee.
