The business area in Ambleside is spread out along Marine Drive, Bellevue, and Clyde. People rarely walk from one end to the other.

The Ambleside Strategy seeks to focus commercial and retail activities between 14th Street and 18th Street. It also recommends additional housing at either end with a mix of unit sizes, for example, 700 - 1500 square feet.

The 1300 block of Marine Drive, on the south side, should be a beautiful entrance to West Vancouver, and could be improved through a mix of uses such as a Museum of Art, moderate-sized food store, a boutique hotel, or condominiums and office space with underground parking.

Are you supportive of a more compact core between 14 Street and 18th Street to focus the commercial centre and make it a more walk-able area?

We already have sufficient food stores. Safeway is close and Extra Foods is not far away. In between there are sufficient excellent small grocery stores.
A 'boutique' hotel is a good idea but the District should not get into any further 'Art' museums.

As an artist, I support an art museum, in order to bring important shows to our district we would need a proper museum space.

I also like the idea of a boutique hotel; I currently have out of town guests staying here right now
and let me tell you it is true
(No matter how nice) house guests like fish start to smell after three days,
and if we had a boutique hotel we would all be more comfortable.

I like that friends could stay at a hotel in our community,
perhaps the hotel could have a lounge and it could provide a venue for
residents to gather have a drink and listen to some live music.
This kind of entertainment venue is sadly lacking in our district don't you think?.

The average age of a resident is 49…we have kids we want something for them to do
and
we want some grown up entertainment for us without having to leave our community
Is that too much to ask?

Art museum - in reality great for the `10% who adore the arts but a massive cost burden to those who would never visit

boutique hotel - a nice thought - do you expect this to be funded via either public or private finance?
