Hello!

Will anyone who suffers from asthma, allergies, heart and/or lung problems and whose health is negatively affected by an ongoing problem of a neighbour's noxious wood smoke please contact me? I want to do something about this problem. My number is 921-1293.

I would like to form a group of LIKE-MINDED concerned and forward-thinking citizens to address this particular environmental and health hazard here in West Vancouver, my hometown. Don't worry, I'll do most, if not all, of the work. I just want to know there is some support out there. I am willing to work hard on my own to give this problem the attention it deserves, but there is more power in numbers.

Please... although this is a forum, I ask that only people sympathic to scientific research and the point of view that wood smoke is harmful to health and environment reply to me.

By the way, I will no longer be replying to naysayers, game players, or devil's advocates! It is a waste of time which can be put to better use. I am not here to listen to their contentiousness and contrariness, only to seek support because our local government is asking us for suggestions.

Now is the time if you are sincerely concerned about the negative effects of wood smoke on your health, your enjoyment of life, and your environment.

Thank you!

The Canadian Constitution states - to be honest, I do not have the exact words but, in effect, that health and enjoyment of one's property is more important than certain other rights.

You have the right to enjoy your property. People around you do not have the right to endanger your health with their wood smoke, despite the contents of local laws and bylaws. Local government is trying to do its best but it won't happen soon enough for those of us who have homes in West Vancouver and who need a solution NOW, in order to protect their health.
