Youth Week
Click here to see everything planned for Youth Week 2013 in West Vancouver!
Youth Week is an international celebration of youth held annually during the first week of May. It is a week of fun, interaction and festivities intended to build a strong connection between young people and their communities and to profile the issues, accomplishments and diversity of local youth.
The District of West Vancouver has been a proud supporter of BC Youth Week since its inception in 1995, promoting public awareness and appreciation for the value, diversity and accomplishments of youth by hosting a wide array of special events for teens and pre-teens. This year is no exception, and West Vancouver’s 2013 Youth Week events plan to showcase, educate and empower youth in our community with the Youth Council & Youth Appreciation Awards, the “Amplifier” music talent competition, a Grade 8–10 dance, a pre-teen pool party, BBQs, fun competitions in the sports gym and Dynamic Movement Gym, and more.
However Youth Week is celebrated, the idea behind it is the same: Young people and their contributions are important and they deserve to be recognized and celebrated!
