Street Occupancy Permit

A street occupancy permit is required whenever any portion of municipal property (i.e. boulevard, sidewalk, roadway or public lane) is temporarily occupied. Submit an application form with a sketch showing the area of intended occupancy and a copy of an insurance certificate naming the District of West Vancouver as additional insured.

This application must be submitted ten working days prior to the intended occupancy date. Once the application has been reviewed, the Traffic Technologist will send you instructions to submit payment online. After payment, the permit is then emailed to you.

Fees

$115 + $2 x area (square metres) x # of weeks (minimum one week). A signage fee will apply if temporary no parking signs are required.

Temporary patios

Businesses applying for an Outdoor Business Area during COVID-19 will need to complete this form, however, there is no fee for this. Businesses that have temporary patios will need insurance certification naming the District of West Vancouver as additional insured for the amount of $5 million.
