1186 Duchess Avenue

The District has received a preliminary rezoning application to allow for a coach house at 1186 Duchess Avenue. The application proposes a floor area variance to accommodate the coach house.

The proposal can be brought forward under Policy 2.1.2 of the Official Community Plan. Policy 2.1.2 allows for consideration of site-specific applications beyond current zoning regulations to increase the supply of coach houses.

The applicant hosted a public information meeting about the preliminary development proposal on Thursday, October 10. NOTE: This was not a District consultation, it was a development-sponsored meeting.

An application to rezone the site has not been received at this time.

Moving forward, the District will work with the community and the applicant should a revised proposal be received.
