The District has received a formal development application for a Heritage Alteration Permit to allow removal of the existing house at 4777 Pilot House Road, relocation of an existing house to the subject property, and construction of a coach house at the rear of the property.
The proposal is being considered under Official Community Plan Policy 2.1.10 and will be reviewed against the Lower Caulfeild Heritage Conservation Area Guidelines HE6. The proposal will also require consideration of a Coach House Development Permit to address the form and character of the coach house and a Wildfire Hazard Development Permit to protect development from the risks of wildfire hazard.
Prior to consideration for approval of the formal application by the Director of Planning and Development Services, all owner/occupants within the Lower Caulfeild Heritage Conservation Area will be provided a "notice of consideration" to allow for public feedback.
Preliminary Application Background
At the preliminary application stage, the applicant held a public information meeting on March 1, 2023, to provide information about the proposal, answer questions, and seek public input. This was not District-led public consultation, it was hosted by the applicant.
