In 2017, a pilot project replaced traditional garbage cans with three-stream recycling bins in Horseshoe Bay Village. The new bins have recycling options for paper and containers, as well as garbage collection.
The year-long pilot project tested the feasibility of collecting the separated paper and containers, which resembles our successful residential curbside program.
The pilot project is now over and, based on the results, the streetside recycling program is being expanded to additional commercial areas in West Vancouver.
