2020 Student Video Contest now open

Feb 11, 2020

The Student Video Contest is back! West Vancouver students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to create an original video for a chance to win the top prize of $750.

Students are challenged to create a 60 to 90-second video based on the theme of this year’s contest—REDUCE. Single-use.

We want students to think about the importance of reducing single-use items in West Vancouver. Single-use items, including bags, cups, takeout containers, straws and utensils, are designed to be used once for a short period of time and then discarded.

Students are asked to think about what happens to single-use items once they have been used, what role people play in reducing single-use items and the benefits of reducing single-use items in West Vancouver.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 17, 2020. The winning videos will be selected by a panel of judges and announced in May 2020.
