Announcement: "Bins don't recycle. People do!" Student Video Contest winners

This year, The District of West Vancouver challenged West Vancouver students from kindergarten to Grade 12 to submit 60 to 90-second videos on the theme Bins don’t recycle. People do!

We received over 75 student videos submissions demonstrating the benefits of reducing waste and recycling responsibly. Students did a great job showing the importance of how recycling the right way is good for our community.

A panel of judges awarded prizes for first place, first runner-up, second runner-up, honourable mention and to the classes that submitted the most videos.

First prize ($750):

  • Aleksandar and Marko Jones of West Vancouver Secondary School (Grade 12)

First runner-up ($150):

  • Anton Lavrov of Ridgeview Elementary School (Grade 5)

Second runner-up ($100):

  • Chloe Mizrach of Westcot Elementary School (Grade 7)

Honourable mention:

  • Daniel Solodchenko of Pauline Johnson Elementary (Grade 3)

Class participation:

Ridgeview Elementary School (Grade 4 and 5 classes)
