CANCELLED: Seawalk closure will not go ahead

Apr 9, 2020

Update: Monday, April 13, 2020

A number of residents have communicated their concerns about this project.  As a result, the District will not proceed with this project at this time. Staff will continue to implement measures to encourage physical distancing on the Seawalk in other ways.

The West Vancouver Seawalk will be closed for one day, Wednesday, April 15, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No public access will be permitted during this period.

The District is implementing separated lanes to accommodate physical distancing as required by the Provincial Health Officer as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The lanes will separate eastbound traffic from westbound traffic with a six-foot-wide space.

Where the Seawalk is too narrow to accommodate distancing, traffic will be re-routed to adjacent spaces.

These changes will make the Seawalk safer for public use. Thank you for your patience while we implement this important safety measure.
