Christmas tree chip-ups for charity and other disposal options

What will you do with your old Christmas tree? Find chip-up locations and other ways to dispose of it. Please remove all decorations before disposing of your tree.

CUT INTO BUNDLES for curbside collection

Christmas trees can be set out with your yard trimmings or in your Green Can on collection day, provided that it is prepared as follows:

  • Place small trimmings and branches in a lidded 77-litre can with a Yard Trimmings decal. Kraft Paper bags with folded tops are also accepted.
  • Bundle twigs and branches with biodegradable string or twine. No wire, nylon or plastic strapping allowed.
  • At the curbside, place bundles beside, not inside, cans.

DROP OFF AS GREEN WASTE AT NORTH SHORE TRANSFER STATION

Fees apply: $95 per tonne ($10 minimum)
