Douglas Park Rain Garden Project

The District is working with the North Shore Rain Garden Project (NSRGP) to install a rain garden in Douglas Park in fall 2019.

Douglas Park is located beside the tennis courts on Douglas Street in Horseshoe Bay.

What is a rain garden?

A rain garden is a bowl-shaped garden designed to slow, filter, and absorb excess water from nearby surfaces such as roads, roofs, parking lots and driveways. Rain gardens help reduce the potential for flooding, clean waterways and protect natural habitats. Rain gardens achieve their goal by using spongy living soils and properly chosen plants.
