About the artist:
Xin Wen is a fine artist who, upon obtaining her bachelor's degree in fine arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, has consistently sought mediums that reflect her identity and cultural roots. Painting and Chinese ink serve as her primary mediums, encapsulating elements of her alter ego. Mastery of these art forms requires years of dedicated practice.
Like many others, her initial exposure to Chinese traditional learning and culture was somewhat limited. Xin's early understanding was shaped by participating in festivals and listening to elders recount Chinese folk myths, or from a quick glance at her grandfather's art room. It wasn't until university that she delved deeper into this highly esteemed art form. This journey taught her a valuable lesson, especially crucial for an artist: the importance of self-discovery and cultural exploration. Fortunately, she has shared this learning experience with many others.
