Join Elmira for a hands-on Botanical Monoprinting workshop where art and nature intertwine! Inspired by the rich landscapes of West Vancouver, you will create one-of-a-kind prints using locally gathered leaves, flowers, and natural textures.

Through an intuitive and experimental process, you’ll learn how to ink and press botanical elements onto paper, capturing their intricate details and organic patterns. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the artistic possibilities of the natural world while connecting with the forests, parks, and coastal flora of West Vancouver. No prior experience is necessary, just a curiosity for printmaking and an appreciation for the natural world. All supplies will be provided. Suitable for ages 10 and up.

Elmira Sarreshtehdari is an artist, art researcher, and educator based in Canada. She is a PhD candidate in art education at the University of British Columbia and holds an MFA from the University of Calgary. Elmira is interested in how the performative and embodied act of participating in art making activates liminal spaces of one’s encounters with the object/subject of the world and how these encounters provide a fertile space for probing, finding, making, and learning. She engages with various art materials and mediums, including drawing, printmaking, participatory installation art, sound, and video/performance, with a specific emphasis on embodied and affective socially engaged art practices.

Since 2009, she has actively curated, exhibited, and taught art both locally and internationally. Elmira has been collaborating with West Vancouver’s art community as an art instructor at the West Vancouver Community Centre and Senior Centre, Ferry Building Gallery and leads exhibition tours at the West Vancouver Art Museum.
