Pony Gold

This is a portrait of a young woman, posed against a plain, dark background. She is positioned on the left side of the frame, with ample negative space to her right. The woman has long, wavy brown hair with highlights that fall around her shoulders and face. Her bangs are swept to the side, revealing her forehead and eyebrows.

Pony Gold is the enigmatic Theresa Anne Bromley. Blending her folk roots with a fiery alt-country spirit, the Canadian singer-songwriter is known for crafting timeless, tender-hearted songs that resonate deep within. Growing up in rural northern BC, Bromely’s unique personal history has profoundly shaped her craft. Themes of addiction, abandonment and loss run through her deeply personal songwriting, tempered by a wild freedom and a yearning for more.

While Bromley may draw inspiration from the Grand Dames of Alt-Country - Emmy Lou Harris, Loretta Lynn and Lucinda Williams to name a few - the dusty trail she treads is all her own. A natural-born storyteller, she weaves the threads of her life with kindness, humour and a raw honesty; her unfettered lyricism spinning sacrifice and sorrow into poetic hope. Her debut full length record produced by acclaimed folk artist Leeroy Stagger cements her as one of Canada's most compelling emerging voices.
