April 2024 Update

Council has delegated the approval of temporary use permits to the Director of Planning & Development Services, subject to public input. If you have any concerns with the proposed temporary use permit, please submit your comments by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, to make them available to the Director for his consideration.

Background

A temporary use permit application has been received under  section 120.15 of the Zoning Bylaw in order for the existing single family dwelling to be used by the Paul Sugar Foundation to provide non-medical supportive care (consulting services) to those living with serious illness, as well as to their families and caregivers on a temporary basis. 

The temporary use of the dwelling is to provide on site consulting services (by appointment) and administrative offices. No accommodations are provided. A temporary use permit may authorize the use of a property for up to three years in any zone subject to compliance conditions specified in the Zoning Bylaw.

Council has delegated the decision making authority of the proposed temporary use permit to the Director of Planning and Development Services. Public notification prior to the Director's consideration of the temporary use permit will be completed in accordance with the Development Procedures Bylaw and the Local Government Act (LGA).

Applicant Public Information Meeting
The applicant held a public information meeting on the proposed temporary use on Thursday March 14, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Vancouver Community Centre. The applicant has provided a summary report of the meeting, posted below.
