Tribute Bench

The tribute bench program is a wonderful way to honour a loved one or a significant event.

Please note that there is a waiting list for bench donations for all West Vancouver parks, and some parks (particularly waterfront parks) are no longer available for bench donations.

If you would like to donate a bench, please follow these steps:

  • decide where you would like to donate a bench (it is a good idea to have a second choice in mind) and then email the Parks Department to have your name put on the waiting list.
  • when your name is next on the list, you will be called to set up an appointment to decide on a location for the bench

Once the location is decided, you will be asked to provide payment by cheque to the "District of West Vancouver" along with your plaque wording (see guidelines below) to:

Inscription Guidelines

Dates that indicate lifetime may not be used. Wording will be non-denominational and kept in the present tense to keep the theme of the inscriptions uplifting, while still honoring the person who is the subject of the donation. Wording must be approved by the Parks Department.

A maximum of three lines and approximately 36 characters per line, including spaces, is recommended for aesthetic reasons. The size of the plaque is two inches high and the length ranges from eight inches to a maximum of 12 inches.
