During the regular Council meeting on January 12, 2026, Mayor Mark Sager announced the approval of a permanent Youth Hub on Pound Road in Ambleside Park, on the former Ambleside Youth Centre site.
This new and dedicated space for youth will support programs focused on fostering connection, well-being and creating a safe space for youth to gather in their community.
The proposed building will be approximately 3,500 sq ft, complemented by outdoor space, and will house the District’s current programs and services that are offered at the Youth Hub at Park Royal.
Features of the permanent Youth Hub will include:
- a large games/social room
- a large multipurpose room
- a kitchen and concession area
- three staff offices
- three washrooms
- an outdoor basketball area
- an outdoor gathering space with a BBQ and picnic tables
Construction is expected to begin in fall 2026, and the new Youth Hub is expected to open in fall 2027.
