Charcoal Barbecues Banned at West Vancouver Parks and Beaches Until Further Notice

With continuing hot weather and dry conditions, charcoal barbecues are banned at parks and beaches until further notice.

Propane barbecues are permitted, with the exception of Lighthouse Park.

The following are never allowed in West Vancouver due to the risk of spreading a fire:

  • beach or park fires
  • smoking in all West Vancouver parks and beaches
  • barbecues in Lighthouse Park
  • outdoor wood-burning ovens
  • outdoor wood-burning fireplaces
  • wood burning fire bowls
  • in-ground fire pits
  • chimineas

For the safety of our community and forested areas, residents are asked to be vigilant while enjoying our parks. Please call 604-543-6700 to report any unsafe fire activities. To report an active fire, please call 9-1-1 immediately.

Cigarette butts tossed from vehicles are one of the greatest risks for starting a wildfire. Please do your part and dispose of all smoking materials safely.

A reminder that the province has banned campfires and outdoor burning in our region.
