The provincial government has announced that Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is available for eligible people, businesses, and communities who have been affected by flooding due to the atmospheric river weather event from October 18 to 20, 2024.
Disaster Financial Assistance is a provincial support program meant to compensate for sudden, unexpected, and uninsurable losses. Eligible expenses may include building repairs, replacement of essential personal effects, equipment and inventory, clean up, and debris removal.
For anyone needing to make a claim, the deadline to submit an application is February 23, 2025. All information relating to this process is available through North Shore Emergency Management.
