The Student Video Contest is back! West Vancouver students in kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to create an original video for a chance to win prize money!
Students are challenged to create a 60 to 90-second video based on the theme of this year’s contest – Reduce and Reuse.
We want students and the broader community to think about the benefits of reducing waste and reusing items at home, at school, and in our community and the importance of incorporating these practices into everyday life. Focusing on reducing and reusing, over recycling and disposal, creates less litter, reduces collection costs, and decreases the resources needed to produce items in the first place.
Students are encouraged to get creative! Make a stop-motion about why reducing and reusing matters, a horror video about over-consumption, a TikTok-style promotion of your “underconsumption core” lifestyle, or a music video about why our community will benefit from the reduction of waste.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 14, 2025.
