At the July 24, 2023 meeting, Council voted to move the Place for Sport project to the next step by starting the procurement phase.
The scope for the project has been modified to include a six-lane track with a synthetic track surface, an artificial turf field with sports field lighting, long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, and shotput, with training areas for discus, hammer and javelin throwing. Washrooms at West Vancouver Secondary School will be renovated to accommodate the Place for Sport facility. Results of the procurement phase are anticipated this fall.
