The District is inviting residents to share innovative, practical ideas that could generate new revenue and support the community’s long-term financial sustainability, while maintaining the services and amenities that contribute to the vibrancy of West Vancouver.
Here’s a quick guide to how this works and what to expect:
- Council sets strategic direction and approves budgets, bylaws, fees, and tax rates through a public process.
- The District can consider ideas that are within municipal authority (for example: user fees and cost recovery, permits and licences, facility rentals, parking and curbside management, leases/partnerships, and service improvements).
- The District can’t move forward with ideas that are outside municipal jurisdiction, inconsistent with applicable laws and regulations, or that would bypass required processes (such as procurement rules, privacy requirements, or public engagement). Not all ideas can be implemented, and some may require significant time or resources.
- District staff review submissions for feasibility, costs, risks, equity impacts, and alignment with District priorities and legal requirements, and provide recommendations to Council where appropriate.
If you have a revenue-generating idea you would like to share, please submit it below.
By submitting this form, you consent to the District of West Vancouver receiving, reviewing, and potentially using your submission. You acknowledge that your idea is provided voluntarily, without expectation of compensation, and is not confidential or proprietary. Please do not share any personal information with your submission.
Due to anticipated volume, the District is not able to provide updates or enter into correspondence regarding individual submissions.
Thank you for taking the time to share your idea.
