Update: January 11, 2024
Detailed inspection and investigation work has been conducted, and it determined that Keith Road Bridge is in better condition than expected. The opportunity to remediate, rather than replace, the existing bridge would cause fewer traffic disruptions, be more fiscally responsible, and could substantively extend the useful life of the existing structure. The District will continue to conduct additional engineering analysis over the next couple of years to determine the scope of rehabilitation work.
Routine maintenance work will continue and minor rehabilitation work will be completed in 2024 to repair pedestrian railings that are damaged.
Background
The existing Keith Road Bridge, constructed in 1952, has been determined to be safe for use. Given its age, the District is assessing options to improve and extend the service life of the bridge.
