The West Vancouver Community Cleanup is a litter clean-up initiative that encourages residents, businesses, schools, and community groups to get involved, get outside, and help clean up West Vancouver.

Make a difference for our environment by caring for, enhancing and protecting green spaces. With more than 140 parks and natural areas in West Vancouver, there are many environmental initiatives for you to support and get involved with.

West Van Parks Need Your Help

Want to help our environment while getting outside and meeting great people? Become a West Van Park Steward by joining other passionate volunteers to remove invasive species, enhance habitat, and restore natural areas. By becoming a West Van Park Steward, you can find out about upcoming park stewardship events and many other exciting volunteer opportunities in West Vancouver.

As a volunteer, you will:

• love your local parks and want to protect habitats and biodiversity for future generations to enjoy
• are comfortable working outdoors, off the trail, and on uneven ground in all kinds of weather
• can be on your feet for a long period of time and are able to take part in gentle to moderate physical work
• are 14 years of age or older

The Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup (previously the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup) is one of the largest conservation programs in Canada. Shoreline cleanups provide an opportunity to take action and make a positive impact in our community by helping reduce the amount of litter that ends up in our oceans. The data collected during cleanups provides Ocean Wise with essential information for addressing pollution at its source.

Shoreline cleanups take place any time of year and anywhere that land connects with water, including creeks, streams, rivers, oceans and even storm drains. Every cleanup makes a positive impact on our shorelines, whether you have a team of a few people or a few hundred.

Everything you need to know about joining or leading your own cleanup is available through Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup. The District of West Vancouver provides gloves, bags, and litter collection tools for your event if you choose to host one.
